Medical Center Hospital, partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Southwest, Inc. proudly sponsors the 100th Ronald McDonald Family Room in the world!
Ronald McDonald Family Rooms provide a haven in the hospital for the families of children 18 and younger who are undergoing medical treatment. While providing many of the comforts of home, it alleviates much of the anxiety of being in a hospital environment. Families may use the area to rest, reflect, get something to eat and drink, shower or launder clothes. Sleep rooms are available for naps or overnight. Located on the 2nd floor of MCH, the hours are 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. (or when a volunteer is available).

The Ronald McDonald Family Room is staffed entirely by wonderful caring people who freely give of their time to care for families with the burden of an ill child.
To volunteer, a two-hour MCH orientation, a TB test, a RMFR orientation, background check and a commitment for a period of one year are required. The Family Room operates from 9:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. seven days a week, 365 days a year and volunteers are needed for every day!
The duties are greeting families, baking cookies, stocking supplies and making the Family Room atmosphere feel like a home to our guests.
