Dr. Davenport is originally from northeastern Ohio. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology at the Ohio University. He continued at the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated with his degree in 1995. He completed a year of internship in Columbus, Ohio then moved to Michigan. He completed his general surgery residency through Michigan State University and graduated in 2000.
In August, 2000 he began private practice in Odessa, Texas. He has also been fortunate enough to provide medical care for a time in Monahans, Texas.
In May of 2003, in a coordinated effort with Medical Center Hospital, Dr. Davenport began working to establish the Medical Center Hospital Bariatric Program. His laparoscopic bariatric training allows for a minimally invasive surgical procedures. Together with MCH he has helped establish the only Bariatric MSBSAQIP and JC accredited program in the Permian Basin and West Texas.
